Featured Artist at MSU Denver’s 11th Annual Piano Celebration


Friends of Chamber Music, in collaboration with Metropolitan State University of Denver, will be presenting pianist Marika Bournaki as Featured Artist at MSU Denver’s 11th annual Piano Celebration.  The recital will be held at 7 pm on Friday night, February 7 at the King Center Concert hall on the Auraria Campus, 855 Lawrence Way.   The Huffington Post calls Bournaki “the Celine Dion of classical music.”

MSU Denver’s Piano Celebration is Denver’s most anticipated mid-winter piano symposium, with events scheduled throughout the day on Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8. Events include master classes, lectures/demonstrations, interactive workshops, wellness workshops, and vendor exhibits with shopping and food. Montreal-born Bournaki is a Juilliard-trained concert pianist visiting Denver for a screening of the film I Am Not A Rockstar, an award-winning feature documentary following her life from age 12 to 20.   A part of the Women+Film program, the screening will take place Thursday night, February 6, at the Sie Film Center, 2510 E. Colfax Ave.  A 6:00 pm wine and cheese reception will precede the 7:00 pm film screening.  

Friends of Chamber Music is the premier presenter of chamber music in the Denver area, annually offering a series of concerts including string quartets, piano trios, soloists, and mixed ensembles.
